VPN Disconnects After 4 Hours – Session Timeout
VPN sessions automatically disconnect after 4 hours. Users need to reconnect manually.
Details
**Cause:** The VPN gateway enforces a maximum session length of 4 hours as a security control.
**Symptoms:**
- VPN disconnects without warning after approximately 4 hours
- User must reconnect and re-authenticate with MFA
💡 Workaround
Reconnect the VPN client and re-authenticate with MFA. Reconnection takes under 30 seconds. Save your work before long periods of inactivity to avoid losing unsaved changes if the VPN drops.
